Roasted Pac Choi with Garlic Scapes

Pac Choi or Bok Choy or anywhere in between, spell it as  you please and preheat the oven to 425.

Seen here is the garlic in its domesticated habitat. Hardneck garlic will attempt to send up it’s curling flowering stalk but if found, the farmer  pluck the stalk, roast it, and devour it with a smile.

Roasted Pac Choi with Garlic Scapes

You’ll need: 

1/2 lb pac choi, minimally chopped, 3-5″ segments
8-10 garlic scapes, in 3 inch chunks
Grapeseed or other roasting oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Simple Steps: 

1.  Preheat oven to 425
2. Combine the pac choi and garlic scapes in a baking dish; toss with oil and a dash of salt and pepper.
3. Roast for 20-25 minutes, tossing and turning the goods halfway through.

Meal idea – try it with spinach & scallion pancakes, along with a bowl of miso soup with seaweed!
